I make wheel-thrown, high-fired functional pottery, such as mugs, bowls, plates, etc. I love making things that people can use. When I started taking classes at Central Michigan University in 1982, my intent was simply to become familiar with a medium I hadn’t studied as a fine arts undergraduate at Eastern. I started working on the wheel, then moved on to hand-building. Today I am back to my roots—throwing on the potter’s wheel and making things that people can use in their everyday lives. (
P.S. I loved working with clay so much that I ended up with a second Master’s degree!).
